Val d’Isère has been a high mountain dream destination since the 1970’s and from its commanding glacial perch at the border with Italy, this characterful town humbly accepts a place in the hearts of both visitors and residents alike. The Olympian Jean-Claude Killy gave his family name to our 300km ski area, which enjoys snow surety from November to May, but also plays host to enthusiasts of cycling, trail running and motor tourism throughout summer. Whilst our glacial peak is at 3650m above sea level, all properties in the town lie at between 1850m and 2100m, from the frontier hamlet of la Daille, to the last dwellings at le Fornet and those in Chatelard sitting in the Manchet valley. It is an extremely safe place to live, young children of the families here all year enjoy the most idyllic life imaginable and there are no traffic lights (or traffic). It helps if you adore snow, lots of snow, but with easy air and road connections to the Cote d’Azur, this high alpine gem becomes accessible to those seeking a split between homes on the coast and up here in the high alps. The range of new build development in our town can barely keep pace with demand, and with existing properties enjoying a ‘recession proof’ meteoric rise over the past three decades, investment here has driven the price per square metre (PSM) beyond those of Manhattan. Entry level resales start at 15,000 Euro PSM to 50,000 Euro PSM for high-end off plan developments with amenities and five-star levels of luxury and finish.
