I live in the lovely town of Bagneres de Luchon an old established spa town in the Haute-Garonne department in the Occitanie region of south-western France. Luchon has a lively and cosmopolitan feel which embraces many adventure sports as well as offering traditional spa treatments. The centre of Luchon has a number of street cafés and brasseries. It is well equipped with shops and there is an excellent market. Luchon offers you the chance to enjoy a great days skiing at the ski station of Superbagnères, accessed by cable car from the town, followed by the ultimate indulgence of a relaxing spa treatment to ease those aching joints. Nestling at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains Luchon offers plenty of other outdoor pursuits including cycling, hiking, walking, paragliding, rafting and many more. It is a truly summer and winter destination. The surrounding mountain villages offer amazing views of soaring peaks making a magnificent backdrop. With Spain, Andorra, the Atlantic and the Med all within reach, we will never be short of ideas for something to do from a base in Luchon. There are many locations in the region that are well worth looking at for both holiday and permanent homes.
